Why does MAGNA intervene in Myanmar?

Medical care in the country is still inadequate. Myanmar’s military seizure of power in February 2021 caused chaos in the public health system, threatening access to health care for millions of people.

MAGNA teams started helping in the country in 2008 in response to the devastating cyclone Nargis, which killed more than 300,000 people. MAGNA was one of the few organizations that succeeded on the ground in the Irrawaddy Delta region.
