On Thursday MAGNA nurse helped to bring a baby girl into the world in a temporary constructed maternity hospital. The baby girl now has a name- Manisha, after our medical nurse who assisted her delivery.

Slovak humanitarian organization Magna Children at Risk (MAGNA) has taken over the full operation of the UNHCR camp in Hungarian Asotthalom located approximately 30 km from the border crossing in Rözske. Now that the Hungarian borders have closed, MAGNA is maping Serbian routes where it will be relocating its mobile clinic.

A lot of people died and many were injured. In many parts more than 90% of dwellings were destroyed. In the area of Sindhupalchowk, where the MAGNA base of operations is located, 63,000 of the total 65,000 houses were destroyed. What do these numbers mean?

On this day, the world honours the courage and determination of men, women and children to escape the violence, lawlessness and persecution in their own homeland. Since the Second World Word, the number of refugees around the world is at its highest today- almost 57 million of them are looking for their new home and safety outside of their home country.
