Vaccination

Vaccines are one of the most effective public health interventions available, but at least 1.5 million children still die each year from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Most vaccination activities of MAGAN teams are during emergency responses and serve as prevention for outbreaks of preventable diseases. In low-income countries, there are many children and adults who have not been included in routine vaccination programs, and therefore the prevalence is much higher.

Whether it is vaccinating children in refugee camps against measles, or vulnerable people during a cholera outbreak, MAGNA teams are part of vaccination campaigns.
