Why is MAGNA intervening in Cambodia?

MAGNA’s first mission was in Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital and largest city, where the HIV/AIDS epidemic had grown to extreme proportions, threatening hundreds of thousands of people and affecting children in 2002. We were the first to provide ARV treatment to children with HIV/AIDS in 2002.

After two decades of relative stability, Cambodia is one of the fastest growing economies in Asia. The country was scarred by a catastrophic civil war and the brutal Khmer Rouge regime, which murdered two million people between 1975 and 1978, and by the HIV/AIDS epidemic at the start of the millennium, which grew to extreme proportions.

MAGNA has been treating HIV/AIDS victims in Cambodia for more than 20 years.
