A 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan on Sunday night. Reports of casualties and damage are still rising. Most of the houses are believed to have been damaged in the Mazar Valley in Norgal district of Kunar province, which borders Pakistan. Langhman and Nangrahar districts were also affected.

Given the magnitude of the earthquake, the impact on people could be devastating, especially for those who need immediate life-saving assistance. We are also concerned for those who will be vulnerable after losing their homes, access to general healthcare, and basic necessities such as access to clean water.

MAGNA teams are on site and are currently assessing the immediate needs. It is only thanks to donors like you that we can respond quickly and effectively to disasters. If you can, please donate here and now.
